yesterday was one of those magical days.
up at 5A
bed the night before at 2A
sometimes i go into manic frenzy excited
states
where creativity flows
and i can’t sleep
and i don’t take pills
so i let the inspiration flow.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF JAKE ON THE ROAD

615A, taxi to NBC

640A live on the air with kelly; she calls my publicist and tells her I’m one of the funniest guys she’s ever interviewed. success. although i offended the metorologist.

715A back at the hotel, quick breakfast; back to sleep

9A depart for 92.5 top 40 pop radio show

10A warmly welcomed for 20 minutes; love local radio, the best people ever

1010A female DJ requests to try FRS Healthy Energy, genuinly loves it, passes it around like a boot after a rugby match.

11A

guest lecture at University of Toledo at a marketing class;
teacher brings me outside after and tells me to tone it down for next class;
I’m too over the top; I’m a bit too “real” (her words not mine);
says that kids here learn inside the box and I’m way outside the box for students.

1230P

i go in and start the class with “I’m not supposed to talk about this… this… and this…”

addressed all the points

she laughed

anarchy and resistance

nothing more interesting

cannot believe the state of university education in the country. eyes wide opened. think outside the box kids, otherwise your jobs are going to India.

2P

business class

fun, enjoyable, great questions

230P interview with school newspaper;
fun guy, English major

3P chat with student body president about building a school in Southeast Asia;
agrees to hold vote this evening

330P interview with ABC news

4P go meet the Music Tour Producer Bill.
Pringles Xtreme Dome being set up,
the most gorgeous $10,000 blow up doll I’ve ever seen
ready for a rock out show.

515P  another speech,  Intro to marketing.
Kid asks me who I am when I “turn it off”;
I answer honestly, class is interested,
I get to be my serious self (really myself) first time all day

630P – 30 minutes before showtime,
last minute preparations.
a thousand kids try out Pringles Xtreme and FRS;
dreams come true, sun sets, music starts

7P and we’re OFF rocking out to Lights Resolve

8P off to Connecticut.
exhausted; grateful.
this is how we win in late night.

thank you TOLEDO! i’ll be back
