Black Taxi performs in the LNR Concert Series at Aloft.
Black Taxi is a four-piece grit pop outfit from Brooklyn, New York, best known for their high-energy dance rock act. They hit the road with their live show in 2010, reaching as far west as LA’s Viper Room and hitting major cities in the Southwest and Midwest in anticipation of the release of the music video for “Shoeshine,” the first track on their album Things of that Nature. In January 2011, Black Taxi sold out NYC’s Bowery Ballroom for the third time, evidence of their striking popularity. Their crowd favorite “Head on a Pike” was also recently featured on NBC’s Chase. The band will record a second full-length album in the coming months. Austin’s Waster, Inc, has the following to say about their live show: “It becomes exponentially obvious that as these boys from Brooklyn get busy they don’t care who is watching or what you think of them; they are simply predisposed to deliver dynamic musicality and captivating Vaudevillian stage antics without the desire, or ability, to exact any less.”
